Metataxa offers a unique suite of software tools which provide easy and secure access to specific information within large disparate data collections in distributed resources, large can here be seen both in terms of complexity and size (up to the Petabyte range). Information can be accessed and correlated from documents, databases, technical results, measurements and any other digital source. This core suite of tools is further supported by high throughput computing technology aimed at aiding large scale data analysis and scenario predictions.
The Metataxa core product range has been developed over the past 7 years by the STFC e-Science Data Management Team, which has now joined Metataxa. The software is being used at STFC on their Neutron and Muon Science Facility ISIS, the Diamond Lightsource third generation Synchrotron and the Central Laser Facilities to catalogue and access both user related research results and diagnostic information on the facility. The US Oakridge National Laboratory Neutron Facility SNS, Adelaide and Sydney University for their national Synchrotron and Neutron Facilities and the Canadian Lightsource have been early adopters of the software around the world.
